eating really good asian food

Emma and Martin live in Oslo with their daughter Majken and when asking for five really good restaurants they’ll give you six. Here’s what on their list of really good food in the capital of Norway.

First up – Alex sushi! It’s the best sushi we’ve ever eaten. Anywhere. Make sure to book a table and don’t miss out on their tempura salad.

Next, Le Bouchon. Like a true French bistro with great atmosphere and top quality food.

Thirdly, Arakataka. Situated in the heart of the city, this critically acclaimed restaurant will serve you small dishes with a modern take.

Sawan. Come to think of it, there’s a lot of really great Asian fusion food here in Oslo. Sawan calls itself contemporary Thai but has sushi and crispy duck on the menu as well. Sawan is located in an old Jewish villa and beats all the other Asian fusion restaurants. Everything has a high international standard.

Lille Saigon 1 is a big tip for the small wallet. Here you’ll get authentic Vietnamese food for no money at all. Perhaps not the coziest of locations but the food will make you forget about it. Lille Saigon is perfect for the weekdays, and if you ask the staff they’ll be happy to give their recommendations.

I’ll throw in a sixth restaurant – Lille B. It started as a backyard eatery of Bagatelle, the Michelin restaurant that closed in 2014. Go family style and order in several different middle sized dishes.
